| Purpose |
Help students with English speaking and reading skills. |
| Responsibilities |
- Work one-on-one or with a group of adult students with homework from English Language Learner (ELL) classes.
- Help students finish homework, review for tests, assist with projects.
- May also work with adults who are waiting to join ELL classes by utalizing materials provided by Theresa House.
- Report student progress to Volunteer Coordinator. Write brief progress notes for use by other volunteers.

| Skills and Qualities Needed |
- Comfortable and patient with adults who are non-English speaking or who are limited in speaking English.
- Enjoy reading.
- Creative.
- Ability to help students without doing the homework.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member.

From 1 to 2 hours per week for a minimum of 14 hours, year-round. |
| When Service is Performed |
Monday through Thursday 3:30-4:30p.m.,4:30-5:30p.m., and if needed by the students, 3:30-5:30p.m. |
